Ductile iron pipe tee itself has a certain corrosion resistance, but in order to improve its service life in harsh environments, some surface treatment is often carried out. Cement mortar lining and external anti-corrosion coating are common.

Cement mortar lining: The application of cement mortar inside the tee can effectively prevent the corrosion of the conveying medium (especially the liquid containing corrosive components) on the inner wall of the pipeline, and can also play a certain role in smoothing the inner wall and reducing the fluid resistance.

External anti-corrosion coating: Coated with anti-corrosion paint and other coatings on the outer surface of the tee can resist the erosion of oxygen, moisture and chemicals in the atmosphere, especially in the underground buried or exposed to the wet environment of the pipeline, anti-corrosion coating can significantly extend its service life.
